its been confirmed by Paul at JTA  that the new B.A.D. Legacy line has been cancelled already !! ,WTF Hasbro? apparently vintage may fill the void until the new 3D releases when a new line will be announced .
hopefully the figures that have already been produced will make it to retail  ,but for Star Wars collectors this is very very bad news and hopefully not an omen that says 2013 is going to be worse than 2012.

I had heard this through JediNews myself. I am gonna send a question to my Hasbro contact and ask them to confirm or deny this. I will let you know if they respond.

dude, I was so looking forward to more bad parts. what could they offer to commemorate aotc 3d that we dont already have?
Nearly every eu figure that has been produced thus far has become an instant hit. How about an eu line? Not a wave but, a whole year worth of figures?

I am still hearing rumors and nothing has been officially decreed by my Hasbro Contacts, but I do think there is merit to this. From what I understand now they are saying that the Vintage Line will make a return for a few more waves (fingers crossed for a Vintage Carded AT-AT Driver) and then they will do this down the road again.

It is definitely a head scratcher all around.

They might have insider information Jay. I am not saying I do not believe it, but it has not been "offically confirmed."

I have never seen Rebelscum err in this regards. I am just trying to verify it through our source which evidently is not as timely or as revealing at RS'.

Paul at JTA intimated that they were told to keep stum about it ,but that there is hope on the horizon but he couldnt divulge what it was yet .but he did confirm that the Target news was not just for Target and that the whole line had bitten the bullet.

Well I definitely trust Paul and Dan who have both confirmed it. Not sure why our Hasbro Contacts won't other than the embarrasment perhaps of admitting they are having some line issues. I will keep trying though. I am hoping they are going to give me a this is what we are going to do about it email, but we will just see.

I hear you Doc and feel your pain. I have used the lull to get involved in higher end collecting and boy it does make you think about getting out of AF Collecting all together.

if i could afford i would ,i was hopeing to lay claim to that Cmdr Gree but some git got there first!...dammit!..lol(i do love my Battle droid mini bust (i keep annoying the crap outta my missus by constantly pressing the sound feature ...roger roger!) i need some good new as im off sick again ...thats nearly 3 months now (have to now go for and ECG as they are worried about my worsening condition).

I just recieved official word;

"Star Wars fans,

 The Droid Factory line which was slated for spring 2013 has been cancelled.  We were very excited about this line at its inception and wanted to give fans an early sneak peek when we unveiled it at Star Wars Celebration this past summer.  Unfortunately since then, through the course of development, we realized that the price would have to be increased and we felt that the value we were adding with the droid parts was no longer substantiated. 

 As a result, we have decided to rework our 3.75” figure program to create a line that is on-par with the quality and pricing of the Vintage Collection.  Many of the figures  intended for the Droid Factory will become available in this new line in the fall.  We’ll be able to share more news on this at Toy Fair.

 We also recognize that there were many hard-to-find Vintage Collection figures in 2012.  So, as we shared last December, we will re-release many of these figures this spring before the Vintage Collection goes on hiatus, making way for some of the most exciting new initiatives for SW collectors in years.

Bah, those droid parts are so darned expensive. They had a chance to revitalize the line. Imagine how less the Phantom Menace Wave would have pegwarmed had they contained droid parts.
We hardly seen anything else for the rest of the year since those were setting there. didn't they raise the figure prices last year anyways?

Yepper, those prices sure did raise in my area.

How much you wanna bet Disney said  you are not gonna raise figure price again so they had to do something different?
