Picked this up at a Wal-mart, last night, for $24.95
Packed in the new red Clone Wars packaging, I have been wondering about these fold out diorama scenes included with the newest released vehicles and now get to see what they are all about. It's interesting to note that the image on the front of the box is now die cut around the parimeter of the vehicle to allow you to view part of the diorama's design through the box front.
Upon opening, I was presented with the tank's body and a bag of 5 parts. Two missiles and their launchers which snap into place on either side of the tank's turret, and a swivling one man gun that snaps into a mounting hole infront of the main top hatch. The two side launchers are positionable up and down. The top main hatch swings open to reveal a cockpit with some detail and enough room to pose a figure in either a standing up through the hatch hole or seated under the hatch position. There are also two side hatches that swing open gull-wing style to reveal enough room to seat two gunner figures which can be seen from a eye slit in front of the tank when the hatches are closed. There are two foot pegs on both sides of the top of the tank's hull which allow for some standing poses with your figures. There are two side compartments with swing up open hatches which contain some nice painted detail of some extra missile storage. The bottom of the tank has 4 rolling wheels.
With some easy instructions printed on the bottom of the box, the fold-up backdrop is easily assembled and while it could be deeper for this vehicle, is a nice addition to those who like to display their toys. I can envision all sorts of future picture taking opportunities utilizing this backdrop.
The tank itself may be destined for a future custom project but is executed well and deserves it's place in this ever growing line.
I noticed on the back of the box that pics of the Anakin DSF and of the Clone Wars Turbo Tank are present so I must imagine that those toys are out now, as well.
