Topic: Luke's Landspeeder Minor Repaint and Weathering

Here is a quick weathering job and minor repaint I did recently on a Vintage Collection Landspeeder for a dio I'm working on.  I also added a dashboard control panel (not movie accurate) and did some gouging with the Dremel in a few places. I may touch it up a bit more but this is pretty much done.

Thanks. it's just a minor reworking/weathering but I thought I'd post it since it was done and I had the pics.  I'm still working out some issues with the diorama structure but it's coming along nicely.  I have plenty of WIP pictures of it but I want to wait until it is finished, or nearly finished, before I post those. However, soon I will post some of the elements that will be used in it like figures and bits and pieces that go with it.

That speeder is nothing short of awesome, in the truest sense of the word. I never realized how cool it really was.

You have captured this often overlooked Star Wars vehicle in such wonderful detail. The lines on the bodywork evoke some of the paint-jobs and decals found on 70's hot wheels toys, so you can tell where the model makers' inspiration came from. It's a once very cool hotrod that's gotten old gracefully and has served it's masters well. I bet the Jawa who bought it off Skywalker made a tidy profit on it, with a name like "Skywalker" in the log book!

This custom is a keeper and would take pride of place on my shelf if I were it's owner. Excellent work!

Thanks HB, I appreciate it. The original Landspeeder and Luke were my first figure and vehicle from Kenner when I was 10-11 years old (1978) so the Landspeeder has always been a special thing to me. I picked this up recently and, like everything I buy, I just can't leave it alone and have to start modifying it.

Looks great, Psyclone! Got a speeder myself stashed away somewhere, which definitely needs to find its way to my workbench.

Any progress on the diorama you have in mind (says he, who hardly makes any progress himself  )

Well dang, not sure how I missed this but it looks great! Really nice repaint, so much better than the factory job with such attention to detail.
