Here's an introduction to some of the upcoming characters in Tales from the New Republic. Unlike Tales from the Clone Wars, TFTNR will have a larger focus on original characters, with existing characters from canon playing a more supporting, peripheral role. That doesn't mean we won't see plenty of them though, so fear not!
Agent Zee:
A field agent for the New Republic Intelligence Service, Zee is often the first to infiltrate hostile territory with her partner Darmas. Agile, smart and deadly with a blaster, Zee's actions and quick-thinking have helped the New Republic score a number of crucial victories against the Imperial Remnant. But unbeknownst to her, Zee's abilities are far more than the result of rigorous training... Agent Darmas:
Agent Zee's partner in the field, Darmas is a war hero from the early days of the Rebel Alliance. Hailing from Alderaan, Darmas has developed a deep hatred for anything Imperial since the Death Star destroyed his homeworld. If not for Zee by his side, the chances are Darmas would be bringing back far more corpses than prisoners for interrogation.Sarella:
A mysterious Falleen who appears to have allied herself with the Imperial Remnant, though for what purpose nobody seems to know. All that is known about this enigmatic freelancer is that wherever she goes, danger tends to follow, and to have her turn up on your doorstep has become an omen of misfortune for many Imperial officers.Under-Moff Trayton:
Some men were born to command. Other men were born to obey. And every now and then there are men who are incapable of both. Under-Moff Trayton is one such man. Never satisfied with his position, this ambitious officer has pulled himself up the chain of command through sheer tenacity - not to mention the occasional backstabbing. The truth however, is that he is a poor fit for leadership, having no desire for the responsibility of command and instead merely seeking the perks. Nonetheless, he has proven a ruthless enemy of the New Republic.Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo:
The brother and sister that need no introduction. The children of Vader have gone on to become leading figures in the New Republic. As Chief of State for the New Republic, Leia continues to lead the galaxy into an age of peace and prosperity, though there are always those who seek to undermine her. Luke meanwhile has established a Jedi Praxeum amongst the old Rebel facilities on Yavin IV. From here, he guides a new generation of Jedi Knights into becoming the guardians for peace and justice.Jedi Knights Dol Corr, Tyella Li and Shon Strakk:
As some of Luke's earliest students, these three were amongst the first to be fully qualified as Jedi Knights. As such they spend much of their time on journeyman missions, helping the people of the New Republic in any way they can. With Corr's mastery of the Force, Li's extensive knowledge of Jedi academia and Strakk's gift for battle, the three have proven to be an unstoppable team, even earning the affectionate nickname of 'The Triumphant Trio' from their fellow Jedi Knights. One can only hope such praise does not go to their heads...Borsk Fey'lya and General BeysonAs the head of the Bothan Spynet since the Battle of Endor and a senior member of the New Republic's Ruling Council, Borsk Fey'lya is not someone to trifle with. Despite having no military authority, the Bothan politician has a fondness for micro-management, and constantly interferes with the operations of New Republic Intelligence - something that irritates its Deputy Director, General Beyson, to no end. The two clash regularly over policy and operational jurisdiction, but ultimately they are on the same side and will - it is hoped - but their differences aside for the sake of defeating the Imperial Remnant.
