Pre-production has already begun, namely I've started producing some character skins for the 3D models:

The first one, Wedge Antilles, was made by the creators of 'Jedi Academy'.

Here's an introduction to some of the upcoming characters in Tales from the New Republic. Unlike Tales from the Clone Wars, TFTNR will have a larger focus on original characters, with existing characters from canon playing a more supporting, peripheral role. That doesn't mean we won't see plenty of them though, so fear not!

Agent Zee:

A field agent for the New Republic Intelligence Service, Zee is often the first to infiltrate hostile territory with her partner Darmas. Agile, smart and deadly with a blaster, Zee's actions and quick-thinking have helped the New Republic score a number of crucial victories against the Imperial Remnant. But unbeknownst to her, Zee's abilities are far more than the result of rigorous training...

Agent Darmas:

Agent Zee's partner in the field, Darmas is a war hero from the early days of the Rebel Alliance. Hailing from Alderaan, Darmas has developed a deep hatred for anything Imperial since the Death Star destroyed his homeworld. If not for Zee by his side, the chances are Darmas would be bringing back far more corpses than prisoners for interrogation.

Sarella:

A mysterious Falleen who appears to have allied herself with the Imperial Remnant, though for what purpose nobody seems to know. All that is known about this enigmatic freelancer is that wherever she goes, danger tends to follow, and to have her turn up on your doorstep has become an omen of misfortune for many Imperial officers.

Under-Moff Trayton:

Some men were born to command. Other men were born to obey. And every now and then there are men who are incapable of both. Under-Moff Trayton is one such man. Never satisfied with his position, this ambitious officer has pulled himself up the chain of command through sheer tenacity - not to mention the occasional backstabbing. The truth however, is that he is a poor fit for leadership, having no desire for the responsibility of command and instead merely seeking the perks. Nonetheless, he has proven a ruthless enemy of the New Republic.

Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo:

The brother and sister that need no introduction. The children of Vader have gone on to become leading figures in the New Republic. As Chief of State for the New Republic, Leia continues to lead the galaxy into an age of peace and prosperity, though there are always those who seek to undermine her. Luke meanwhile has established a Jedi Praxeum amongst the old Rebel facilities on Yavin IV. From here, he guides a new generation of Jedi Knights into becoming the guardians for peace and justice.

Jedi Knights Dol Corr, Tyella Li and Shon Strakk:

As some of Luke's earliest students, these three were amongst the first to be fully qualified as Jedi Knights. As such they spend much of their time on journeyman missions, helping the people of the New Republic in any way they can. With Corr's mastery of the Force, Li's extensive knowledge of Jedi academia and Strakk's gift for battle, the three have proven to be an unstoppable team, even earning the affectionate nickname of 'The Triumphant Trio' from their fellow Jedi Knights. One can only hope such praise does not go to their heads...

Borsk Fey'lya and General Beyson

As the head of the Bothan Spynet since the Battle of Endor and a senior member of the New Republic's Ruling Council, Borsk Fey'lya is not someone to trifle with. Despite having no military authority, the Bothan politician has a fondness for micro-management, and constantly interferes with the operations of New Republic Intelligence - something that irritates its Deputy Director, General Beyson, to no end. The two clash regularly over policy and operational jurisdiction, but ultimately they are on the same side and will - it is hoped - but their differences aside for the sake of defeating the Imperial Remnant.

The second and final batch of character previews for this series, which will kick off once Tales From The Clone Wars Volume Three has concluded:

Jedi Masters Cilghal and Corran Horn:

Jedi Masters Cilghal and Horn are two of Luke's oldest and most trusted former students. Cilghal is a Mon Calamari with great aptitude for Force Healing, whilst Corran is one of the New Jedi Order's best field agents. With the establishment of the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV, both have been called upon to serve as teachers for the next generation of Knights.

Grand Moff Kellen, Admiral Pellaeon and Moff Reylin:

Though the Empire was crippled at the Battle of Endor, it still remains a potent presence in the galaxy and a constant threat to the New Republic. This Imperial Remnant is governed by a loose confederation of Moffs and warlords, led by the pragmatic Grand Moff Kellen (left), whilst the still-formidable Imperial Navy has fallen under the command of Admiral Gilad Pellaeon (middle), a former protege of the legendary Grand Admiral Thrawn. Moff Anita Reylin (right) is the ambitious Head of Intelligence for the ruling Moff Council.

Admiral Ackbar and Wedge Antilles:

The New Republic has been kind to Admiral Ackbar and Commander Wedge Antilles. As heroes of the Battle of Endor, both former Rebels have found places of prominence in the new order. Ackbar now serves as the Supreme Commander of the New Repulblic military, whilst Commander Antilles and his Rogue Squadron continue to serve as the best starfighter unit in the galaxy.

Han Solo and Chewbacca:

Once a smuggler, always a smuggler. Though now the husband to one of the most powerful women in the galaxy, Han Solo hasn't let that go to his head. Still preferring to work on the ground than behind a desk, he and his loyal friend Chewbacca continue to help serve the New Republic on the frontlines - wherever that may be.

Mara Jade:

Emperor's Hand. New Republic agent. Smuggler. And now Jedi Knight. No-one can say that the life of Mara Jade has ever been dull. Though now a fledgling member of Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order, Mara Jade's time with the New Republic Intelligence Service is considered a high point in its history, and Jade remains a role model to the likes of Agent Zee.
