Well, it has been a long long time, but I've gotten more custom work done lately.  I posted a couple of new creations in the Rebels contest thread, but figured I should update this thread with some of my new figures.  (And offer sincere thanks to all of the kind words on here in the past.)

First of all, my group of space pirates for the current Yakfinities.  Individual pictures of the characters are up in the Yakface forums, but here is the group:

And a few random others...  First, a Weequay mando lazy no-paint custom:

A couple of outer rim refugees...

And an Asari core-worlder.  She uses a cast head from I Am Boba Fett.  I've repainted the head four times and I'm still not totally happy with it, but it may be as good as I can get it for now.

Thanks for looking!

What a treat to look at all that amazing custom work! One of my absolute favorite things about star wars has always been the background characters. Lucas's team handled them so well in the OT, even if some were puppets or people holding masks on sticks under burlap sacks. You're a customizer after my own heart with the crazy amount of detail you've added to you work! Love that oxidized ancient protocol droid! I can only hope you get hired by Hasbro and put in charge of making all the background characters!

"Only Imperial stormtroopers are so precise."
"For the Empire!"

Docoutlands - there would be a whole lot more of your stuff if I could ever find more time to paint.  ;)  Soon, I hope.

Just want to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone for all of the kind words (and for the front page - that was awesome to see).  There's such a great community here.  I need to spend more time on these forums, for sure.

Finished another batch of customs up this week.  Mostly Jabba's goons for the current Yakfinities.

First of all, my first movie custom in quite some time, Chokk from Episode 1.  He is my first attempt at sculpting with Green Stuff, so he's a bit rough...

A repaint of a Power Lords figure to be some muscle for Jabba.

A human skiff guard

A Pacithip thug

And to add to my series of outer rim refugees, a Polis Massan

Hope you enjoy them!  There are a few more pictures in the Yakfinities thread on Yakface.

They're all very well done.

I think I like Chokk the best. That power lords repaint is awesome, it looks like it belongs in Star Wars.

Also, your lighting is superb my good man.

Excellent work! A couple of questions:

1 - Do you prime, and if so with what?

2 - What paints do you use and why?

Thanks!

Thank you both for the kind words!  To answer your questions, BigKev, I do not typically prime my figures (though I probably should...)

As far as paints, my brand of choice is Tamiya - it is a very smooth paint that typically covers with one coat while still being fluid enough to not gum up on the figures.  Being impatient, it's also nice that it dries quickly.  Haha.  I do use some cheaper (Rose/Folk Art, etc...) acrylics for washes and dry-brushing.  I have recently started using Citadel paints as well and I do like them, but I think that Tamiya are still my favorite brand.  I hope that helps.
