Just INCONCEIVABLY good!  Your work makes me speechless.

Jaeger45's Customs--UPDATE 6/25 H’nemthe—Jabba’s Palace
« Reply #152 on: June 26, 2019, 05:09:59 AM »
Unnamed H’nemthe—Jabba’s Palace

I was never really happy with commercially available fabrics for the robe; they didn’t quite match.  Thankfully, a solution presented itself.  Stan was kind enough to layout the stripe pattern, which was then printed on printable fabric sheets on an inkjet printer.  The vest is custom sculpted over a the base of a Solo vest from the figure that came with the speeder, then recast in a flexible urethane resin.  Belt is from a Jawa bandolier.  Hands are Colonel Cracken.  Under all this, the body is a Black Series Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction).

Thanks for viewing!

Another great looking custom! I never thought to print onto fabric like you have. Great idea!

Holy Smoke!  Awesome work on the robe, but that vest transcends.   :o

Man, your use of soft goods makes we want to cry.  Beautiful work all around, but those fabric pieces make them a step above.

Loving your softworks.

You MUST post a how-to on soft-goods pattern printing.

I agree with the previous feedback! You make some of the best softgoods for 1/18 figures I know, Jaeger! I never heard of printable fabrics - the result turned out excellentäy with your inject printer!
Thanks for sharing your work of art! You take the likeness to the top! I hope Hasbro see this, too!

Printing a custom pattern on fabric is a great idea! The vest turned out amazing! Great job from design to execution.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!  The printed fabric was very easy to use.  I used Dritz “Printed Treasures” Inkjet fabric sheets, from my local fabric store.  Until recently they were available on Amazon, as well, but they appear to be out of stock.  There are a few other brands, too.  Basically, it’s just a piece of white woven fabric, attached to a backing similar to waxed paper, about the size of an 8.5”x11” piece of paper.  Ironing first seemed to help the adhesion.  You print on it just like you’d print on office paper, peel off the backing, and rinse in cold water to remove any loose ink.  Once dry, you cut out your project.  The only trouble I ran into was the fabric detaching from the backing, jamming my printer, but again, ironing first seemed to help.

I’ll try to post my patterns sometime.  None of these projects are terribly difficult.  Most of them are just a modified T-tunic, fit a little looser or tighter, with a few seams.  If you have a sewing machine and minimal sewing experience they whip out pretty quickly.
