THANKS, commander reaper  :)

I went to my Star Wars club meeting yesterday and wanted to customize as soon as I got home. Talking Star Wars with a group of fans always makes me want to make more Star Wars stuff. I ripped apart this guy.

And added some additional paint aps to Bubo and began oxidizing a metal chain.

Oh you make me so insecure CustomJedi.
I've got a chain, but just haven't gotten to it yet.  Chewie, Slave Leia and Bubo all need the upgrade.

I love all your Jabba's Palace work.

BTW, I asked <theastromechcollection@gmail.com> if your bartender droid has a disignation.  He says,"Nope".

Thanks Tamer, DarthSinister, Sjefke and Koth (did you source that name Koth, or is it your own creation?)!

I think you've been too busy making all the backgrounders in Jabba's Palace to have time for insecurity, Sjefke! But if it helps, it took about a week to oxidize Bubo's chain.

That gave me time to just about finish BoShek. Customizing multitasking!

Even though his deco is on the boring side, this one still took me a while. I wanted to update BoShek while staying true to Hasbro's original effort in so much as was possible.

Wow, that newer Boshek is amazing. Off to share.

Wasn't Power of the Jedi the last time we saw this figure?

Thanks for the "share," Tamer!

Yes, the Power of the Jedi line gave us BoShek way back in 2002. I salvaged the helmet, head, boots and holster for my re-do.

The only thing that would make that better is seeing it on the pegs in a vintage cardback with a cantina scene.

I'd love to see BoShek on a vintage card!

I learned a technique (might be old news to some) while I was working on Bubo that I thought I'd share.

The chain I bought was a shiny, silver plated length of chain for jewelry making. Since it would not work as it was, I aged it without using harsh chemicals. The chain was placed in a sealed container with a hard-boiled egg yolk. Once the yolk was separated from the white, I crumbled it up and placed it in an empty deli meat container that I could throw out when I was done. You can use this to darken silver (plated too) and copper. Make sure the metal isn't touching the yolk and check on it often until it's dark enough. My piece took about three or four days. I let the container sit outside while the sulfur did its trick. I would not recommend removing the lid of your container indoors unless you are a fan of the smell of rotten eggs.

I'm continuing to pull out old customs and deciding which ones will be revisited. Here's CZ-3 from 2007. I repainted his face after stripping off most of the original Hasbro paint apps. He could use some additional weathering but he still holds up.

That chain technique for weathering is awesome. I have got to go share that one.
