My "Big" Millennium Falcon Dio-Style Shots
« on: June 17, 2014, 12:12:05 PM »
My attempt at doing Diorama style shots inside the tight corridors of Hasbro's "Big" Millennium Falcon!

Not everybody knows that Hasbro's Legacy Collection "Training On The Falcon" Battle Pack was chock full of accessories specifically designed to work with the "Big" Millennium Falcon (2008)!

Also ALL of the Falcon-specific items in "Training" are actually repacks of items from as far back as POTF2:

*Blast Shield Helmet: POTF2 - Luke w/ Blast Shield Helmet (1998)

*Gas Masks: POTF2 - Mynock Hunt Cinema Scene Pack (1998)

*Cargo Crates & Lantern: Saga Colleciton #010 R2-D2 (2006)

*Tourniquet: Saga Collection - Luke Skywalker (Bespin Duel) (2002)

So, how crazy is that? Hasbro designed the new Big Falcon to accept all these accessories from way back in 1998! The tourniquet is from 2002. Our modern Big Falcon designed in 2008 has a plug hole in the Med Bay for it! A lot of love must have gone into designing this Falcon for us.

*And yes, I also added the more-screen-accurate Jedi Training ball taken from the VC80 Anakin figure!

Nice they're working now... excellent lighting... i've always admired customizers that can effectively use LED and Fiberoptics... in dio's and custom vehicles, I tip my hat sir.

By the way... you should think about doing an AT AT crew shot or maybe just customizing one out with LED and Fiberoptics. ... just a thought :D

Ha! I actually have the AT-AT crew all set up! Just haven't gotten teh lighting the way I wanted yet and shot it! Thanks for noticing the lighting. Yes, wiring the LEDs was the big pain for these. My LEDs are all rated for DC power. So, I convert them manually to AC power using a multimeter, lots of resistors, and plenty of old cellphone chargers. I really think the lighting is what makes all the difference for my collection and dioramas.

These are tremendous!
I dabble in the Star Wars Universe of Toys... I rip apart little plastic people and turn them into other plastic people. Sometimes I take pictures of them and post them.

Rezikai, just looked at your Deviant Art site. You have monstrous talent. My first love in art and design has always been pencil drawing. That's what I did as a kid before painting, CGI, art school, career, or anything else. I love your work, man! Incredible human face detailing!

CustomJedi, I just saw this comment just now. I was actually just over in your "Jabba's Palace" thread practically glued to my chair marveling at your work. This compliment (above) coming from you means a lot to me! I only hope I can achieve the type of atmosphere that your dios have! Thanks!
