Black Series 3 and 3/4" Wave 5
« on: July 13, 2014, 07:38:57 AM »
No pictures yet, but Dorkside Toys has given us some great new info on new 3 and 3/4 inch offerings coming in October. You will find links throughout this post.

I have been getting myself updated on all the great new Star Wars Activity this past week and saw that we have news on a great new Star Wars Black Series 3 and 3/4 inch Wave that list figures like Captain Rex (finally!), Darth Malgus, Luke Skywalker (Wampa Attack), Darth Vader (Yoda's Test), Starkiller, Imperial Navy Commander, Princess Leai (Bousch), and R5-G19. These seem to be slated for a late October arrival. You can get them all as singles along with the new Jabba's Skiff Guard, Ree-Yees, and Wedge Antilles (Snowspeeder Pilot).

Like I said, these are all up for individual sale! I am not sure what that is going to mean for brick and mortar stores and we haven't yet seen images of some of these (bet we see em as early as next week), but there are definitely a few in there that have my curiosity up.

Thaks to Stephen Hayford we are seeing at least one of these new figures. Here is the Hoth Luke:

I have to say I am really liking the looks of this new card style for The Black Series; may better than the cardbacks out now. It looks to me like really the only difference in this new Hoth Luke over the vintage style release is a bloody nose, but that just makes me hopeful for a new Wampa perhaps.

Yeah, these cards are much better than TBS - I've always like the helmet shaped packaging.  This Luke is just a new head on the same body, with some repainting, right?

From what I can see so far I would say yes.

I'd prefer it if they used cardbacks more agreeable to a protecto pack....would like to keep some of my figures more secure than in the box I have them in now.

These are similar to the Legacy 2 Series and I have some proteco cases (ones Hasbro made) that fit pretty good into these. I will try to dig a few of em out and show some pics. I want to say I was even able to use their ROTS cases if anyone remembers those.
