Or an original figure based on yourself as a star wars character. Pretty self explanatory any era any affiliation whatever you would see yourself.
Or a custom droid. An original 3.75" or 6" droid design with any purpose you desire.

Ooooeee... this is an idea I like!

Pop an idea on in here and we could vote for it. I would love to see a wide open contest too.

I wont be participating in this myself, but to see new ship/vehicle designs would be cool..even if using parts from others..but drastically changed..not just repainted or extra guns etc..It would have to be major..like a Jedi starfighter with Tie interceptor wings or something..that has  a story behind it,or would 'make sense' in the SW Universe evolution of design theories

In a custom ship contest you could build a wooden ship and perhaps a figure pilot.
I think a scratch built ship would be  a complete scratch build like plastic, metal, fiberglass, wood etc. or a kit bash using at least two different ships to make a new design. But keep in mind the time restraint.

Let's try to not limit ourselves on materials so much. I do like the ship idea.
The custom droid idea is cool
You could widen that one out to include android customs. That could be pretty fun

I think any type of droid would be acceptable. Working class droids, pilot droids, bounty hunter droids, service droids, battle droids whatever. You could even build a droid that does your job. However a cyborg would not be considered a droid. It just needs to be original design, no repaint or anything like that.

As far as the scale it should be up to the discretion of the builder. A small droid would be better in 6" scale and a larger one would be fine in 3.75" scale. The voting/judging should be based on creativity and originality.

Ok folks, I finally sorted through these and started a poll. I added a few other ideas, but feel free to post away on the social sites you frequent so we can actually get a vote that is indicative of the creative soles we have here.

I always go back and forth about the voting thing with the idea of having low votes determine things, but at least those folks care enough to vote. With thousands of members here I would love to at least see a hundred or a hundred and fifty votes.

Feel free to poll your favorite idea and get folks to vote for it in the various social places you frequent. I have tried to keep the themes as vague as possible. Whatever idea wins then that person and I will flesh it out (if need be) to answer any construction questions that might arise.

We could do a "non-traditional media" contest that could include wood working and other sculpting or any kind of materials OTHER than the typical plastic figures.  Or, make it a requirement that non-traditional materials have to be added to the figures to make it interesting.

A lot of good options this time, a hard choice, but means it should yield a a great challenge no matter the winner.

Devin, that is an interesting idea and I will be glad to include it in our next poll, but generally speaking the more specific we get with a custom challenge the less interest that generally receives. Maybe you can drum up some support for this so when the next poll arrives folks will vote the heck out of it!
