I've been thinking hard about the custom contest, and have the pieces for these figures I'd like to make and if good enough enter in the contest. This will at least give me one to focus on, and if it doesn't turn out I'll focus on the next highest. Hopefu

I've been wanting to make a custom female mandalorian for quite some time, and a while back a Chinese seller was selling Isabet Reau figures with no accessories pretty cheep so I got one and waited until I had the pieces to make this one. The purple is entirely done in sharpie, and as I said before it can be sticky and shiny but a clear coat will take care of that. No battle damage on this one like the Iktotchi, loved the purple color too much, and the pics don't really do it justice. In hand, the purple looks way nicer, lighting/camera quality just wouldn't comply. This is a sneak peak, will be listing this one tomorrow if your interested.

This is the finished product of my earlier post about sculpting. It's my first attempt at sculpting on a figure and I worked hard to keep the articulation of the base figure, along with minute details like the scale textured skin. I liked the experience and am thinking of taking on some more ambitious sculpting projects.

I know it's been a while, and I'm sorry I don't have anything more glamorous to show off, I've just been swamped working 6 days in a row. More importantly though, this figure is technically my first shot at sculpting. I never intended it to become a finished figure, I was just testing how well the clay would bond with the figure, but is looked kind of cool. What's really cool about this custom is the cloak I sewed together with a wire at the bottom so it can be posed with the figure. Sadly those pics didn't turn out so well, my camera didn't know what to focus on. Also I did the copper detailing on the lightsaber, just bought a number of metallic permanent markers for lightsaber detailing.

Really cool Mando Sith.  As if one or the other isn't intimidating enough. I like the red and black color pattern and how you placed his softgoods.

Excellent soft goods work.  I cant sew worth anything, and it's probably a skill that intimates a lot of customizers, so kudos.  You may be able to get  the cloth to flow a little better, if it's broken in a little.  I've seen a customizer on another site do wonders with softgoods after sanding it with 600 grit.  Test it on some leftover material first.  He didn't make a  tutorial.
