I've been thinking hard about the custom contest, and have the pieces for these figures I'd like to make and if good enough enter in the contest. This will at least give me one to focus on, and if it doesn't turn out I'll focus on the next highest. Hopefu

Something I've had SOME success with...although it definitely doesn't work all of the time: rather than try to paint small details like that, carve them with an xacto knife, then paint roughly and wipe away with a wet cloth so the only paint left is in the channels you made with the knife. Your milage may vary, and I'm admittedly a lot better with a blade than I am with a brush.

Love the Maw figure! He looks splendid. Kix turned out really well. The other feedback is great for ideas on small features. Thanks all.

Thanks guys, will have to try some methods for small details, I just felt weird about it for I've never had too hard a time of matching tattoos, but those fancy markers I mentioned really help with that. Been really busy lately preparing to move again, this time it will be for a while at least. Anyway, here's my Tahiri Veila from the New Jedi Order book series. Made her from a G I Joe Cover Girl, think the get up looks pretty darn close to the book art.

She's listed here if anyone is interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Star-Wars-Jedi-Knight-Tahiri-Veila-3-75in-figure-sith-mandalorian-vong-EU-/351747151977?hash=item51e5c39869%3Ag%3ABjcAAOSw7ehXTaRj

Great job with Tahiri. Using a GI Joe body was a great idea!

Thanks Blizzard, my figure is even closer to a different pic, but I like the way she looks in the reference I shared better.

Thanks Starchaser, it just hit me out of the blue that her outfit looked rather military, so I googled female GI figs until I found a good base.

Been a while, but I'm back, and with my 194th figure! Planning some bigger things leading up to #200, and feel free to check out nearly all of them at the Dartharmoresscustoms facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DarthArmoressCustoms  For #194 I made Alema Rar from the New Jedi Order, and later book series, specifically this version is Alema as a Dark Jedi. Very playable figure as the base figure is black, used Black Widow, with plain hands, and a retooled Aayla Secura head. Alema doesn't have straps around her lekku, and they are longer, so I rectified this, along with a completely new paint job on the head, I just felt the need to make her eyes blue to be proper.

If anyone is interested, she's listed here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Star-Wars-Dark-Jedi-Alema-Rar-3-75in-figure-sith-mandalorian-darth-EU-/351767132652?hash=item51e6f479ec%3Ag%3At7QAAOSwM4xXbCiF

Alema turned out really well. The lekku looks especially good.

Been working on a Terentatek for my 195th figure, here's the work so far, shaved him down, sculpt him up, and put a base coat on.
