star wars/ww2 mash/ups
« on: October 28, 2014, 09:10:38 AM »
This was a fun little model I did about a year ago with an AMT AT-ST with some 1/35 scale Tamiya kfz.222 and 37mm parts.

I built a ww2 version of the battle of endor. Its a concrete German style bunker. Originally I wanted to build it the same shape as the endor bunker in concrete but it looked funky. These figures I made from star wars miniatures and  I added 1/48 scale German infantry weapons and gear.

This was an AMT/MPC walker I built prior to the other forest version. Made the same as the other using mainly SD.kfz.222 parts. I added the snow using baking soda last year when it was snowing real bad so maybe I went over the top but I think its a nice addition.

All kinds of updates. Very cool walker.

You might think about keeping some of your posts in just one thread that way it is easier to follow and view your work in one setting. I can combine this one with your WW2 Walker if you like.

Yeah that would be cool. I just had so many builds I had before I joined.

This is a T-47- M20 mashup I did a year ago. Unfortunately I dropped it and lost a few parts but you get the idea. Also here is a pic of the M20 regular version shot in black n white. If you really look and compare the two you can see an uncanny resemblance. I think the snowspeeder was based on this design.

This model is a Revell AT-AT that was inspired  by a combination Tiger tank, Geustov rail gun and an armored train. It has yet to be comleated I hope to look it in the eye again and get it finished. This was extremely time consuming. Every panel line was grinded and re-scribed. I added a metric crap ton of parts. Totally redesigned the main cannons. Added some rivets to the middle section plates. Built a bay door on the middle section along with a machine gun turret. I even removed the back panel exposing a giant diesel motor I built from a 1/32 Rolls  Royce Merlin. Planning to put the 502nd mammut battalion decals on various places. By the time I got to this point I wanted it to be over. Then life happened and never finished. Just gotta make it happen

I have parts to build an
A-WING/F4 WILDCAT,
FEDERATION TANK/T-34,-
MILLENNIUM FALCON/B-17.

After the AT-AT I wanted to switch gears pursue some other ideas. I still think my mashups were the best. It was an original idea I got while trying to build a tattoine AT-ST. I started adding panzer IV parts and thought hell might as well add some decals too. And that started the whole flow of ideas. I still have the original pics of that AT-ST. It was an evolutionary process.

If I can find some time I will do that, the only section I am religious about doing this is the custom figures as it was way too cluttered and folks just won't spend too much time going through the threads to find things so if a person keeps their stuff in one section it usually works out for the best down the road.

"You may dispence with the pleasantries... I'm here to put you back on schedule."- Vader-

What I'm going to do since there are so many other projects I'm wanting to do, is leave the other side stock and display it with the finished side showing. That's sort of what ILM did with them. Because if I customized the entire thing it would take an unnecessary  amount time. If you're only going to see one side. Great works are never really finished in the eyes of its creator.

I'll display it in a collapsed pose. Like it had been knocked out. I weathered the engine area with soot and burnt out parts so it'll look cool. Hmmmm..Which gives me another cool idea for it but I'll keep that a secret.

Goood goood. Everything is going according to my design.

Really nice designs and execution on each of these vehicles. I really enjoy mash ups like this!
