Yeah, it'll be cool. A little unconventional, building displays from war game pieces, but I'm an unconventional kinda guy. I got a slab of wood, this time made in USA, so better craftsmanship than the other one I bought last time. Its a 7" x 9" with routed edges, no French corners, because I want my gunships on the edges. This'll be my layout, I'll mark the positions with a pencil, then drill the holes. I'm just sandbagging right now till I get my paint. I'll use Vallejo paint this time. I like Tamiya a lot, because its thin and covers beautifully, but the Vallejo formula is thicker making dry brushing more effective. Basically I'll paint the small ships black with white dry brush. The MC80s will be more complicated. I'll get into that later. You can see the middle Nebulon B where I had to make my own antennae, I still can't find that sum gum piece I dropped.

Assembling the Fleet. 1/10,000

I did some painting on the MC-80s the winged version came out like I wanted. Mon cal ships sort of look like a combination Blue Whale, Shark and conch shell, so I used them as inspiration. The non winged one, I would have liked to have better color variations, but at this scale its almost impossible without it looking wacky. I'll work on the display, meybe tomorrow. I've been a little side tracked lately. After this I've got an idea for my next project, I've been trying to simplify the design, but still be cool. Anyway, you'll see what I mean.

Thank you Tamer! Yeah I hope to get this done before my time off from work, next week. The idea for my next project is another Rebel Alliance repurposed Clone Wars vehicle. This time the AT-TE. I wondered how the rebels would repurpose one. I figured, it would work great as a construction/recovery vehicle. The AT-TE is too cumbersome for covert operations, like the rebels use, so a base defender/construction vehicle would make sense. I'll just re engineer the back section, I was going to re design the front, but K.I.S.S., ya know. So I'll work on that during my time off, as I stopped vacationing a few years ago. Its more relaxing to stay home, and do whatever I want, that I can't do while I'm working. I'll use the Revell 1/90 AT-TE, and here are some examples of military heavy equipment I'll use as a reference.

The Rebel fleet is going to look awesome mate.

The idea for a recovery AT-TE is awesome.

I started working on the magnetic crane mechanism.  Now that I have the crane I'll be able to figure out how to mount it to the back of the AT-TE, and make my modifications. I think it looks pretty neat .  Its fully functional with elevation, traverse and the magnetic grapple can be lowered. Once the rubber tubes start to stretch the grapple will hang better. I'll add a few more details later, for now I have what I need.

Thank you Tamer. Here's a wip shot. I'm still figuring out the engineering. I may have to do a great deal of plastic surgery.

Really liking the AT-MPV (all terrain multi-purpose vehicle) or whatever you're going to call it. I've been thinking about something similar, just not on such a grand scale. I'll look forward to the final product.
