Sweet effect. Off to share.
Thanks again Tamer! Yeah  ive seen his tutorials videos he did back when I was building ww2 dios, they helped a lot with making explosions. Even though it's much smaller it's still the same concept.

Wow!
Really cool.
Thanks Sjefke! I still need practice, but its not difficult.
Damn awesome work JD, I'm really enjoying the WIP pics and I'm really looking forward to seeing the completed dio.

Ron
Thanks Ron! I was hoping to get this done soon, but last week was hectic.
The smaller the scale is the more opportunities there are to go BIG! This is a great Hoth dio! And the light effect looks phenomenal! It does look like a real explosion which is in my opinion one of the hardest things to portray in model building. Amazing job on this one!
Thanks Legion! I like working with small scale, you can build a huge dio without taking up real estate. It's actually easier to build small as opposed to 3.75 or 6, not as many minor details.

Alright I finally got back on this dio. Corporate was nice enough to give me an extra day off, however I had to do more work in less time. so I ended up sleeping on my extra day, instead of working on my dio. Plus it's been raining on my days off lately.

The weather was great today, so I decided to plaster my dio. Of course  I ran out of plaster cloth half way through , so I used a plaster mix and paper towels. It worked just as well as the plaster cloth. So I'll use that from now on, its just more messy.  I also did addition sculpting using sculpting plaster, but I don't like using that stuff. It's like some kind of a pulpy mashed potato gloop.  Next Ill run my wires, tape over the wires and then add my final ground effects.

Been off the board for about six weeks and just saw this JDeck. This is shaping up to be beautiful. The explosion looks amazingly real. Fantastic work.

Thanks guys for the great feedback. Im going to wait until the Bandai AT-AT releases along with the Snowspeeders. It'll be 1/144 instead of 1/150, overall It will look better.

In the meantime I've been on a GI JOE kick lately. I like GI joe because theres certain things I can do with them i cant with Star Wars, so its a good balance.
I started on a Storm Shadow Arashikage mountain temple diorama. Im almost finished, just need finishing touches.

I'd say this one is done. I gave it a little more snow, and added the repainted foo dogs. I think it's a neat little piece.

I know our bread and butter here is SW Customs, but I sure do like seeing other genres and environments too. Joe being right up there too. I can't wait to see if someone does some King Kong stuff or Logan stuff too.

Spread the word Yarders we like customs of any genre here at ISY.

Yeah this site is perfect for me. I dabbled in other forums, but they were a little too specific. I like to build all sorts of stuff, dios, figures, models, Joe stuff. This is a very versatile forum. And Tamer, you do a great job of putting it all together.

Aw shucks, thanks though JDeck. I appreciate the comments. I just enjoy seeing what new projects the folks here get into. I am always amazed. It gets me through my week, especially when I have rough ones like last week!
