I've been wanting to build some kind of NHL Washington Capitals star wars mashup for a couple years now. I figured I'd pull the trigger on a line of figures inspired by Capitals players, and the player's position determines the type of Starcraft they pilot. Center=A-wing, R/Lwings=X-wing, defenceman=B/Y-wing This figure is a Troy Brouwer X-wing pilot. I sort of painted his uniform/helmet in the style of the 2015 winter classic in which Brouwer scored an amazing game winning goal. In the next couple weeks I'll have a some waves with figures including Jon carlson, Matt Niskanen, Brooks Orpik, Tom Wilson,  Joel Ward, Nicklas Backstrom, Egveny Kuznetzov and of course Alexander the gr8. I'm afraid by then they'll be knocked out the playoffs.

I built a couple more first is Nicklas Backstrom. Center/A-wing pilot.
Second is Joel Ward. Right Wing/ X-wing pilot.
 I still need to touchem up a little meybe add some paint here and there and on the helmets, but that's about it. Soon I'll have some more.
  Had an ideer for a dio/display briefing room or hangar with a white floor and those glass tactical screens like on Hoth and Yavin with circles and lines on it similar to a hockey strategy board. To make a Hockey arena sorta look.

Yeah I saw them a few months ago they were awesome, they sort of inspired me to build these guys. I wasn't exactly sure if I wanted to build custom NHL vehicles or pilots but I think the pilots are the best medium.
I ordered some Capitals nail decals to put on the helmets and such I thin it'll be a nice touch if they're not too big.

Evgeny Kuznetsov center/A-wing pilot. Once I get my decals in it'll make a world of difference. But I think this anakin head looks just like him. Only thing is his fro doesn't allow his helmet to fit but, hell with it.

What a great concept! This is a fun series of figures and they are turning out well. It will be interesting to see how far the Capitals go this year. Keep those customs coming.

Interesting, I don't follow hockey much but some of the parts you are picking are dead ringers.

Thankyou starchaser. I don't think the Caps are cup quality this year but if they tweek some things and develop their players more thell do well next year.

  Lol. Thank you Tamer. They're sort of a limited niche market, novelty figure series. But as far as I'm concerned, what's better than hockey and star wars?!
