Re: JDeck's dios & figures.: order 66 survivors; Brutis Valli.

Thank you Tamer for the FP slot. The back story and names were inspired by Norse mythology Valli is a derivative of Vali the god of fallen warriors. I think that's where we get "valiant" but don't quote me. Wuden is a derivative of Oden supreme god and Vali's father.
As far as the figure I used a Mcquarrie Stormtrooper chest plate that I cut up and dremeled thin. It worked pretty well because the Mcquarrie figure is made of a soft almost vinal plastic, so it shaped nicely.

These are some great custom, the duro is my favorite! Like the poses you put them in as well! Top notch!

Thanks Stan. I chose the stances of the figures to mimic samurai. The objective for Samurai is to kill their opponent by drawing their sword and striking in the same motion.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures. TBS 6" Chewbacca: repaint
« Reply #93 on: June 05, 2015, 07:14:01 PM »
I started getting into the 6" line usually I just keep them in package, but this Chewy I wanted to customize him for The Empire Strikes Back look. I just added some different washes and pastel chalk highlights, for subtle variations of color. I think in TESB chewy was a little greyer than ANH, meybe even a little longer, not sure what it is but it seems different somehow.  In the next week or so I'll be building a dio including another custom figure, so stay tuned.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures.6" Bandai C3PO: Oh no! I'm backwards!!
« Reply #95 on: June 06, 2015, 03:01:44 PM »
Hello everyone. I bought this Bandai C3PO, and it is awesome! I know what I did to it could be considered sac religious but I had to, it's one of my favorite versions of him in the entire Saga. Threepio and Chewie are hilarious together. I added a bunch of wires and tubes to his torso and arm nub, then weathered it a little. I even put the little blast hole in his chest with a hot nail poked from the inside. Not quite finished with him. I need to make his cargo net to go on Chewie, I think I'll end up using a fishnet stocking toe.I don't like the netting I have. So it looks like I'm building a Bespin dio, stay tuned for more.

Thank you Tamer. I think I'll do a Bespin escape dio, or more like a vignette. Chewie/3po standing at the landing platform door shooting stormtroopers

Thank you Stan! I can see my work getting better with each build. Plus these 6" figures pack a lot of details.
The dio is coming along swimmingly. I didn't take any pics, its just a bunch of foam and styrene tacked together, but I can see the end of the tunnel.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures. 6" Chewbacca and C3PO: TESB
« Reply #101 on: June 10, 2015, 04:06:08 PM »
Hello 'yarders, I made Chewbacca's C3PO net today out of a fishnet stocking. Looks better than the alternatives. It stretches well  making the holes as big as I want. Its a nice weave, works pretty well.

As far as the Dio, I'm almost finished just need to add some details and what not. I figured I'd unvail it when I'm finished instead of showing my WIP since I'm so close.

Thanks Tamer, this really is a fun build. When I was a kid I did the same with my POTF Chewie/3po, but I made a net out of the bag you get when you buy oranges I even glued little wires to 3po's torn off limbs. This one is a lot better though.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures. 6" Bespin escape
« Reply #104 on: June 13, 2015, 05:27:04 PM »
I finished my Chewbacca Bespin Escape diorama today. Bespin is my favorite Star wars location, the stark white and  art deco is pretty cool. This is my first 6" Bespin dio, but it won't be my last.
