Thank you, Tamer and Graeber. Appreciate the positive words. I continued work on my Kashyyyk trooper dio. It looks better with some jungle plants thrown on. I made them with preserved fern leaves. I bunched them together twisted it and glued it down. I think it looks better than the expensive plastic aquarium stuff. I did the same on my AT-ST Assault dio but in a smaller scale. I have a few more types of plants coming in soon to give a greater biodiversity. In the next couple days I'm adding some mud puddles with WS Realistic water. I'm still working on his position, I need to conform to the limits of the figure. The range of motion isn't that great.

Than you again, Tamer. Using natural products is always the best. Plus 1/48 is really easy, its amazing how just sprinkling fine turf on the tree really makes it pop.

Thank you Ron. Your work has always been a big inspiration for me.

I decided to take off the macro binoculars it was just too much with the pauldron the backpack and the BFG. He looks less dumpy and awkward without it. I really like the binoculars but I'll use it on another project. Also added my mud puddles, in 24hrs it'll dry clear.

Well its pretty much complete. I added some water/mud as well as some wookiees and stormtroopers.
The setting of the dio is Kashyyyk 10BBY. The Empire has gained a foothole on the planet Kashyyyk, and has been using the wookiees for slave labor. A group of freedom fighter Wookiees rose up against the tyrants. Expert guerrilla fighters the wookiees ambush their enemies at the most vulnerable positions.
I hope you all like it, as much as I liked building it.

Thank you, Tamer. I really am pleased. The realism went beyond my initial expectations. its sort of bitter sweet, i enjoy building these dios better than looking at them on my desk or shelf, or whatever. I have another project ill discuss later when i update my 6" dio.

Alright, its more or less done. I wanted to wait until my other plant came in but I need to move on with my life. I'll add it later.
He's an Imperial Marine commander assigned to Kashyyyk to defeat the Wookiee resistance. His expert use of a light repeating blaster matched with his ruthless aggression makes a worthy opponent for the Wookiee rebels.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures. 6" Jabba the Hutt. dio
« Reply #149 on: July 02, 2015, 03:12:06 PM »
Well im starting another dio, but this one will test my abilities and my patience. That's right a 6" Jabba dio. Ive told people I'll never do a Jabba dio, because its one of those things that have to be completely accurate and I don't want to spend my whole life and all my money making it. Until I saw a SDCC Jabba at a really good price, and said why not all the cool kids are doing it why shouldn't I. So it will be pretty involved, a custom dio, two custom figures and many custom props. It won't be 100 percent movie accurate, I can assure you, but it will have the illusion. so stick around for updates, I'll start work soon.
