I just started my Jabba's throne room display.  I'm building it in a bookshelf, so it's more of a stage seeing everything will be on one side facing out. I have most of the flooring rough cut, and I started on the main archway over Jabba's throne.  A good trick when mocking up foam walls is to use scewers cut short, stick em under the wall section pointy end out, place it, and jam it into the floor. Helps hold when gluing too, in addition to clamps. Well, that's what I do anyway.

I've started a JP 3 times. Finished 0. Have parts. Some that end up in other works.  :D
In the meantime until I start number 4 (which will probably fail too.)  >:(
I like to watch other peoples success. This is looking very good so far. Keep up the good Work.

Thanks Ron! A big thing is the lighting, as you know. Thats why I like these in shelf dios. I can manipulate the lighting, almost like a movie set.

Thanks Tamer! Yeah it's looking pretty cool so far. Just need to build a few more wall sections and some stairs.

Yeah I know what you mean. I started a 6" version a couple of years ago. I ended up selling what I made, but to me it wasn't anywhere near done. This is just going to be real basic. If it comes out even slightly better than the POTF2 jabba's palace 3d diorama I'll be happy.

I did a little more work on my Jabba's throne room display this weekend. I got a few walls fabbed up, I built the stairs on either side of Jabba's dais, and I got the inside of the main arch covered. Granted its all held together with toothpicks essentially, so its a little wonky. I used foamcore for the inside of the archway. I had to strip off the paper, because it will fold instead of bend with the paper. So I spent most of yesterday soaking and stripping. Next I'll start finishing the flooring, including an attempt to make the floor grate.

This is looking really cool man, I found steaming the paper off works wonders if you have wallpaper steamer or something similar.

Thank you Tamer, it's coming along. Once it all gets a coat of stucco it'll really take shape.

Thanks Panther. Steaming is a good idea, it would loosen the glue pretty good. I don't have any device, and I dont want to take too many chances, this foam melts like butter. At one time I could get paperless foam at Dollar tree, but they stopped selling it.

Thanks Ron. Yeah I have to take a lot liberties to put Jabba's entire palace into a 23"×11" shelf. I would have loved to do a whole dio, but I don't have the space.

Thanks Mr Jedi! I find the more work I do, the more I realize I still need to do. It might be a while before it's finished.
