Its coming along real nice , I am really liking this !
Thanks Mr.Jedi! It's coming along slowly, but I might drag it out, make it a Summer project. I'm wrestling with a few ideas, right now.

Aquaman! Monarch of the Ocean!
« Reply #393 on: June 27, 2017, 06:13:00 PM »
I started a real quick Aquaman diorama. This is pretty much the basic idea. The statue is an aquarium decoration of Poseidon. I first cut it in half, then I sanded it to make it look like it had been underwater for a couple thousand years. I started making some ruin blocks, one of which I added the Aquaman symbol to using epoxy clay.  The plants are leftovers from the ones I used on my Endor display, I forgot what company it was. Im also using some tiny shells, and ground up shells, for added details. I just need to paint some things, pour the plaster/sand and suspend Aquaman in a floating position.

This is going to look awesome. I have ordered the Icons Batman and Superman so I can do some small dio's with them. Now seeing the Icons Aquaman I'll have to get him as well.

    Thank you Tamer!
I did some weathering on the Poseidon statue. I used pastel chalks. First white to create a pitted look, then different browns for dirt, or silt. Then I used a small amount of fine turf for algae, and finally a coat of WS concrete watercolor.

Wow, that looks like it has sat on the ocean bottom a few years. Perfect. Off to share.

Yeah totally agree with Shawn it looks like it has been on the ocean floor for a thousand years excellent work.

I like the Icons figures as their articulation looks great so it means less work for me when I pose and glue and cover to the joints for the dios.

Thank you Tamer! Yeah briny is a good adjective for it. I'm working on the ruin stones. Had to use a different method. So they will be more like limestone, or sandstone.

Thank you Ron! Yeah I was really satisfied with the quality of the Icons figures. I usually dont stray from Hasbro or Bandai, after the Funko Rocketeer I bought broke while I was taking it out of the package.

Man, I haven't been able to work on any projects in a while. First I got really sick for two weeks. Then I decided to do the Bandai reviews. The past couple of weeks I've been very distracted, a good distraction, but that's it.  Anyways, I needed to get back to this Jabba display.

I worked on the wall sections, making damaged stucco effects. I painted the main archway section with WS watercolors.  I had to totally rebuild the far side wall section, because it had a huge gap, that I overlooked, that is still in the process. So, you know, it's coming along.
I'll take better pictures of the details, when I pull it all apart again, just wanted a test fit.

Much to do I still have.

These are just a few shots of the damaged sections so far. I'm thinking of backlighting a couple of them with green LEDs.

Thank you! I'm really going to lose myself in this project in the next coming weeks. Got to keep on running.
