StarAlien70's custom figures
« on: May 20, 2015, 01:39:42 PM »
Hi, I'll start off with some figures from my Cantina model.

Tonnika Sisters:
Mainly from Ayy Vida (Star Wars Saga 2003 no.38) with head piece taken off and replaced with thick black thread for hair.
Feet replaced with Aurra Sing's (POTJ 2001) boots.
Cuffs and collars: paper cut to shape, stuck on and painted.
I cut and altered an arm on each figure to hold the Hookah pipe better.
(I still need to make belts and put the red pattern on the garters)

Spaceman - 'Cantina Dude':
Mainly from Bossk (Saga Legends 2010/11 SL01)
Hands from Darth Maul - Sith Training (Star Wars Saga 2002 no.42)
Helmet from BoShek (POTJ 2002)
Lower legs from Luke - X-Wing Pilot (2009 Legacy SL-17)

More to follow

Nicely done! The Ayy Vida heads work quite well and your modifications and painting are really excellent. Look forward to seeing more.

Just excellent work.
Love the work on the eyes, and really like the hair.  I had thought to use black tassles if I ever got around to doing these two, but your thread is probably the better scale.

Love the Tonnika sisters, but that cantina diorama is simply breathtaking.

Hi, thanks for all your positive comments. Here are another couple of figures from the Cantina, Jenny and Swilla Corey:
Both figures are mainly from Camie Marstrap (Comic 2 pack). Plastic skirts replaced with soft goods.
Jenny's head from Marion Ravenwood (Indiana Jones). Swilla's head from Hermione (Harry Potter) (I know it's not a particularly good likeness, but I just like the look of it).

The images below are a new version I've done of Jenny with a soft goods robe:
The figure on the left is the original Jenny (now intended to be a different Mos Eisley character), with a repainted head from Ysanne Isard (Comic 2 pack).
New jenny is mainly from a repainted Aayla Secura (ROTS 32), with arms and lower legs from Camie Marstrap.
The soft goods robe is modified from a Naboo Pilot (VC72)

Below, new Jenny without soft goods robe:

Your girls are great. Nice use of parts, paintwork and softgoods. I especially like the Ysanne head and Aayla body combo. I also like the use of Hermione head. Well done!

These are very good. Its too bad they cut Jenny from the movie, I thought the clip was interesting.

These figures look great. I think the Hermione head works pretty good for Swilla (I wish I'd been able to find one or two of these figures, never did though). The Marion head is actually a great likeness.

Hi, thanks for all your positive comments. Here are some more of my Cantina figures Jabba's goons and Yerka Mig

I'm going to spend a bit more time on these 3

Davelynn Schmee:
From 2 different 'Pirates of the Caribbean' figures; mainly from 'Gibbs' with head and coat from 'Blackbeard', altered and repainted.
Boelo:
Mainly from Han in Trench Coat (not sure which version) minus belt/holster.
Head from Chief Bast (TSC Death Star Briefing Multipack) hair repainted slightly.
Holster cut from belt of Rebel Ground Crew (Rebel Transport Speeder) and glued in place.
Bandolier from Anakin (Clone Wars 2003 no.42)
Robe from Episode 1 'Naboo Accessory Set' cut down a bit.
The hat is made from a piece of faux suede.
Gela Yeens:
Mainly from Dr Evazan (TVC 2012 VC57) with waistcoat cut back and repainted to look like it's part of the shirt.
Belt section is twisted back to front to get holster on lefthand side, then repainted (I could do with adding a few ammo pouches to this).
Head from General Tagge (TSC Death Star Briefing Multipack) with moustache painted on.
Bandana/headscarf is a piece of a Darth Maul robe (I think from Episode 1 'Sith Accessory Set').
Goggles (shown below) from Lord Asriel (Golden Compass).
(Hasbro could do with making some separate goggles like the ones stuck on Luke's floppy hat (POTF 1999). Does anyone know of any figures that have this style?)
Bandolier from Kithaba (TVC 2012 VC56).
Waistcoat from Greedo (TSC Vintage 2006).

Yerka Mig:
Mainly from Luke 'Ceremonial' (2013 Black Series #05) with repainted shirt and jacket.
Head from General McQuarrie (2008 TAC no.40) added a bit of Sculpey to the forehead then repainted the hair.
Arms from Fixer (2010 Celebration Comic Pack) with painted stripes.
(I hadn't made this figure when I took the pics of my Cantina model.)

Loving the great OTC tribute.
You're doing them justice.
Is your long term plan making dioramas?
