That is a cool image, I love the composition as well. Keep it up as I'll be interested to see what else you come up with.

It's been a while since I posted anything in here... honestly it's been a while since I actually drew/painted/photoshopped anything!

I ran accross these sketches I did a while back and thought yall might like em.

basically I kept seeing the mythosaur skull emblem and wanted to know if there was any images of the creature behind the menacing skull.  The closest thing I could find was the "city of bone" comic book image.... of course, that comic book depiction of the city suposedly made from a mythosaur, looks nothing like the mythosaur skull emblem... let alone it's not even anatomically correct!

So I took it upon myself to try and draw not only a more anatomically plausible skull, but the entire animal.

I love my pet monitor lizard, so I felt like a monitor type body and head would look great for the mythosaur.  I gave the mythosaur a flattened tail as I feel like an animal of this size would be decended from ocean dwelling, swiming lizards, much like crocodiles.

well... what do yall think?

Very nice, it would be neat to see some color added to some of these. I do love a good backstory.

You have been busy, Devin.
I like the mando chick and really like the insect studies. That robotic insect is cool and the lizard picking his teeth over the horse is my favorite.

Great sketches, Spud.  It's great what one can do with a pencil and paper!

I guess I should have explained a little bit about some of the pics...

the "robotic insect" is suposed to be my rendition of the mandalorian Basaliisk war droid from The Force Unleashed video game.

The other insect sets were a ficticious alien race I dreamed up a long time ago.

The lizard sketches were done shortly after I had not only gotten my nile monitor lizard as a pet but had seen a video on cryptozoology, the "megalania" or giant butcher, is a giant extinct goanna, or monitor lizzard which inhabited austrailia (and possibly other parts of the world) during early history... there are actuall accounts of Abariginal tribes passing down stories of the "giant goanna" lizzard in their prehistory.  this spawned the idea to me that giant monitor lizzards, giant snakes, and giant crocodiles could all be roots for the "dragon" myths and legends.  A giant monitor lizard would look very much like an english dragon, only without wings!  so these were my depictions of a giant monitor living amongst midevil humans and terrorizing them....
