Hi All,

Took a small break tonight and did this for my daughter as she loves BB-8 I picked it up from a mate from our local hobby club.

As per the daughter's instructions I wasn't allowed to make and paint/weather it how I wanted to I had to do it her way LOL.

So I repainted it using Vallejo paints and then gave it a wash of matt black and lightly drybrushed it with desert yellow.

The figure comes with a clear base that allows it to roll in one spot so I glued it to the black base that came with it and then added sand by mixing 2 tablespoons of spakfilla and 4 tablespoons of sand and added some desert yellow and mixed it all together and added it to the base.

Once the base was dry I gave it a wash of desert yellow to darken it just a little and the flame was done by painting some cotton wool and then cutting off a small piece and glued it to the arm and sprayed the whole thing with dull coate.

Hi All,

Break time over LOL.

I added the side sections and then measured out the top/bottom section of the manibles. I have to make the inner section of the round sections before I glue them inplace.

Thanks heaps Shawn and she has other BB-8's but she has had her heart set on the Bandai kit since it came out. I wish I had been filming her face when I showed her the sprues and then she realized it was BB-8 it was PRICELESS.

Thanks Buddy, and the BB-8 is a great little kit.

Hi All,

Another little update, I ran out of foam board so I'll have this hold until after the weekend when I go and get some more.

I added the landing gear holding areas and did some frame work for when I add the hull.

Very cool. Any plans to do a Falcon cockpit in the future for the 3.75" folks?

Are you doing the interior too like the statue or just the exterior?

Cheers mate and no plans for a 3.75" cockpit I'm afraid but I will be doing a 6" cockpit in the future.

I'm just going to do the exterior due to time.

Thanks Shawn and yeah it's getting there slowly and hopefully I'll have the rest of the materials to start it again on Friday.

Hi All,

While I'm waiting on more foam board to arrive I decided that I would do Dengar in 1/12 scale.

Dengar just needs his turbine attached once I finish painting the head which is from an old Call of Duty WW2 GI figures but so far he is made from a Bandai Sandtrooper and I glued the joints together and covered them in cloth and bulked it up a little using cotton wool. The chest plate was done by using putty and then sanding it to shape, I used greeblies and plasti card for the front section of the chest plate.

The straps are pieces of material and the shoes/pistol holster are from the BS 6" Bespin Luke, the pouches are 1/20th scale WW2 German model kit. The machine gun is from the Bandai Storm trooper and the shackles are pieces from the T-21 Light Repeating Blaster Rifle Sand Trooper Bandai kit some chain and plastic card.

The back just needs the cloth roll attached. The brace is from the Bandai Sand trooper kit, the grill is from a 1/35th scale WW2 Sherman tank as is the wheel and the rope/wire is from an old head set. The straps are pieces of material and the buckles are from an old 1/6th harness.
