Wow, 70 pages of pure awesomeness Ron! I am really impressed and just can't stop looking at all your projects! Your painting skills and ideas are VERY inspiring, the Force is strong with you!
Do you also have some experience in Warhammer? The way you painted the bases remind me of the dioramas displayed in Games Workshops...

Actually its more than 70 pages this is the 2nd thread his 1st one is locked due to being full. Plus he has other threads in action figures, models and scratch builds. Not too sure about the vehicle thread though.

Cheers Chris and I did have a vehicle section but haven't put anything in that section for years.

TIE fighter pilot display is really awesome. I like the paint apps on the clone trooper too, you did a while back. That looks very well done. I wanted to make a 501st version myself, I still have the clone trooper kit in my closet.

Thanks heaps JD as soon as I got the kit I knew I had to make a 501st trooper first.

Hey All,

I did another Clone yesterday it made him into a Commander but of no one in particular. but I'm looking for a Wolfe sculpt so I can do him later down the track

Recipe

Trooper - is from Bandai and is built straight out of the box. He has two phase 2 helmets one with the visor up and one down, I used the head from Hasbro's Jango Fett figure and puttied the neck section then inserted a plastic tube for length then a small piece of electrical cord that I removed the wiring and that connects to the ball socket on the neck piece. The neck cover is just a piece of stocking wrapped together then glued into place.

Base - is from the kit with balsa wood sides and then a mix of sand 40%/spakfilla 50%/paint 10% was mixed together and placed over the base and while it is hardening I made to feet impressions so that the figure can be placed on the base without falling over.

Once the mix was dry I then used potty mix and covered the base and left it to dry and then it was given a wash of Vallejo's Flat Brown and German Cam Dark Green and this was spread over the potty mix to tone down the colours. I used plants from JoeFix Studios for the palm looking palnts and the spike plants and repainted and dry brushed them and the grass tufts are from Army Painter.

Thanks Shawn, I wasn't sure the visor would look good but after painting the two buckets with them on I was very pleased how they turned out.

Hi All,

Another easy build and base.

Recipe

Figure - is the Bandai FO trooper and was built straight out of the box and was painted using Vallejo and MIG paints yes I know new paints and I have found the MIGS paints are on par with Vallejo.

I have had people email and PM me as to why I am doing articulated figures and the reason is that I have a Con coming up in June and I will have a table selling my pieces and I had people ask me will there be articulated figures this year at the table and so that is why I have been doing some of them this way.

Base - is very simple it is the troopers base with balsa wood sides and then a mix of 40% sand and 60% spakfilla was mixed together with a little water and then it was spread over the base. Once dry I gave the sand a wash of Vallejo's Iraqui Sand and the small wall is a piece of high density foam and I pulled pieces of it and added spakfilla over it then painted it Vallejo Iraqui Sand and then a light wash of Vallejo Beige Brown.
