Hi All,

Well the contrasting colors make it all pop. I found your gallery on FB and shared it today too.

Yeah have to agree, have the blacks and red on the base then the light grey above does give it more depth and cool thanks heaps mate.

Hi All,

Started a new dio/display this afternoon and this time it will be Boba with Han in carbonite from RotJ.

The base so far is made using foam board and the grills are from a plastic fly swatter which I cut out from the flat swatting piece.

I have added LED's and they will run of a 9v battery.

Cheers Shawn, I just got to adjust the lights so they are lower and not to close to the grills.

It sure doesn't look to me like you have to adjust much. Lights do add so much to a dio like this.

Hey Shawn, I have done a few adjustments with the lights and ended up putting them back where they were in the first place LOL. So yeah your spot on buddy lighting sure does make a dio.

This is awesome!  I remember the fun I had with my version of this last year. Getting the LEDs in the right place took ages of fiddling and playing but it makes that scene look amazing.

Hi All,

Did some work to the wall of the Fett/Han Carbonite display.

I have done the sand wall by mixing 70% spakfilla and 30% sand and covered the base. Even thou it is dry to the touch I still need to wait another 10 hours before I can paints and weather it.

Hi All,

WIP pics.

Well the sand is drying I decided to give the mini Falcon I did last week a base/diorama.

I decided to make a small Escape from Moss Eisley dio. I have used foam board for the main frame work and will use spakfilla to cover it.

Oh mate, that is just amazing, the LED's just top it off!  I should have used filla on mine instead of modroc strips.

Hi All,

While the paint was drying on the Carbonite wall I did more work to the docking bay. I covered the dio with spakfilla and once dry I painted it with Vallejo Dark Sand and the 3 wahses of Vallejo Beige Brown. I made small crates using foam and the pipe/tubes are thin plastic tube.

Hi All,

Mos Eisley Escape is now completed. I added landing lights which are 1:35 scale WW2 German stick grenades. I also added some more containers which are oval and these are 1:35 scale WW2 Germangas mask containers.
I also gave the base a little more weathering by using a beige brown wash and then a light drybrush of Iraqui sand
