Hi All,

A mate of mine in my local model group wanted a clone trooper done which he saw over on Star Wars: A Custom 1:12 Galaxy and which was done by Travis Paschall. I contacted Travis and asked was it ok to copy the figure but add my own touches to it and he said yes.

I have added a pic at the end on what Travis's Clone trooper looks like.

Recipe

Trooper - is from Bandai and built straight out of the box using the Phase II helmet. The chest and thigh straps are cloth elastic and the rifle sling is made from pleather.  The side pouches are 1/32 scale which I got from the parts box, the hand grenades are from Bandai's Death trooper kit. The poncho and karma is a dried baby wipe painted and then crumpled up to soften them and then applied to the figure.

Base - is thick foam board with the rock being a mold a mate did for me from Woodland Scenics rubber rock mold sets. The dead tree I picked up from a dead plant and the dead bushes are roots from weeds which have been dried out.  The muddy/murky water was done using a two part resin from Tamiya with a little brown paint added to it.

The base and figure were painted and weathered using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

Thanks heaps Shawn I had a lot of fun doing this one, especially with the resin water as it is the first time I have used resin.

Hi All,

WIP

I thought I would do my take on the Star Wars TV series that is getting made of The Mandalorian.

I have used body parts from a Hasbro 6" BS figure's which are Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Kanan Jarrus. The weapon's butt is from Hasbro 6" BS Luke/Speeder and the rest is parts from Bandai's Storm trooper, Clone trooper and Shore trooper weapons.

The desert ops trooper turned out amazingly. The paint scheme is most excellent and the baby wipes work really well :) I really appreciate how much attention you give to the bases on these mini-dioramas.

The Mando is looking good. I will be most excited to see the final product.

Thanks Shawn and I'll have another update shortly.

Thanks heaps mate and the baby wipes are awesome for cloth goods and you know me I hate plain bases for the figures but when you add details to them they really bring the figure/s to life.

Hi All,

New update on the Mandalorian.

I have super glued the joints together and filled them in with plasticine and then I covered all the cloth area's with tissue paper. Now down to getting the details done then painting him.

Hi All,

The Mandalorian is now ready to paint. I used pleather for his belt. straps and holster and parts from Bandai's 1:12 figures and also used plastic card. In the pics it looks like he is wearing either a cape or poncho which I add at the end.
