Hi All,

Battle of Tatooine, 1:144 scale.

Recipe.

Fighters/figures - the Tie and X-wing fighters are from Bandai and built straight out of the box and the Sandtroopers are from Dark Fire Designs over on Gumroad, they are SW Legion scale and I just rescaled them down to 1:144 scale.

Base - is some old Bandai bases with balsa wood sides, the rock outcrops are moulds from plaster using Woodland Scenics Rubber rock moulds and the small rocks/boulders was done using kitty litter and the sand is a mix of spakfilla/sand.

Reminds me of a Star Wars Fan Film I just watched on YouTube yesterday. Just fantastic Ron.

Looks like it just popped off the screen. I would really like to see more starfighter type ship battles in more than just space backgrounds.

Off to share on the front pages.

Wow Ron, that turned out fantastic! The colors for the landscape are excellent. The rocks all look great. I think the troopers on the ridge are a very nice touch.

Thanks heaps Shawn and yeah you don't get to see a lot of fighter battles over land which is a shame as you can do a lot of different scenery ideas.

Thanks so much Jeff and I was going to do a ground battle as well but I'm still learning with my 3D resin printer and these two troopers were the only ones that survived :)

Oh I get it...my son had a couple of "failed" prints when he started out too - with comical results even. But you'll get it figured out soon enough.

Thanks mate and slowly getting there, for me it's making sure I put the supports in the right places and some of the prints that came out you could have used them as monsters or ghouls LOL.

I understand the supports are the trickiest part. My son is totally using misprints as zombies and for body parts. He had one print where the base printed half through the body, so I guess we have a soldier stuck up to their torso in mud or something :)

Hi All,

Imperial Assault on Jakku, 1:28mm.

Recipe.

LAAT/LE, Troopers - the LAAT/LE's are from Fantasy Flight Games and where built straight out of the box and the details are awesome on this kit. The dead troopers/running troopers are from DarkFire Designs and the trooper with his helmet off with an injured trooper/pilots/troopers repelling/sitting in the LAAT are from SkullForge Designs, the LAAT's and troopers were all painted and weathered using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

Base - is a cheap shelf which hangs on the wall and is MDF and once built I turned it upside down, the sand is fine washed sand and spakfilla mixed together and the rocks are kitty litter and once dry I used Vallejo Paints and pastel chalks.

Wow, Ron - another cool diorama! You did an awesome paint job on all the minis! I really like how you made the TIE Fighter wings look. Reminds me a little of a rescue mission like Black Hawk Down.
It's funny how all the major battles in the OT and ST take place in either deserts or  forests. That's part of the reason why I enjoyed the battle over and in Coruscant in ROTS so much, after the battle in the fields of Naboo and the battle on Geonosis.
So cool that those vehicle kits are available. I'm off to take a look at what Fantasy Flight Games have to offer.
Thanks for sharing your cool scenery with us!
