Drakos' Customs
« on: July 16, 2015, 09:47:34 AM »
A bit about me: I've been a collector for the past 5-6 years, but I haven't really gotten much into customization aside from the occasional kit-bashing. Partly because I didn't want to mess with the figures that I have, wanting to preserve their character, and partly because I didn't know what materials to use and where to get them (I'm from the Philippines).

A few years ago, I tried painting, with mixed results, I used regular art acrylics and couldn't find/ didn't know what sealant/fixative to use for the paint, so after my small project then, I didn't attempt any other venture since then.

A year ago I bought a small pack of sculpey, but haven't tried using it yet because of mixed reviews online as to how to  harden it WITHOUT using an oven and because of a lack of confidence. Recently, I was able to acquire some epoxy, and so I decided to try playing around with that, thus rekindling my curiousity and desire to customize.

Here are what I have so far:
1. Clone Commander Shade
(Christophsis ARF trooper plus kama and pauldron from a Capt. Rex)

2. 1313 Boba Fett (WIP)
(removable armor Jango Fett)

Based on this concept art: http://assets.vg247.com/current//2013/10/Star-Wars-1313-8.jpg

3. A'sharad Hett (WIP)
(Black Series Ep II Anakin and head from Tusken raider)

I'm just a bit busy from now until I finish my licensure exams, but hopefully after that I'll be able to work on these guys.

Any feedback or suggestions would by much appreciated!

Just wanted to share some kitbashes I have on the side since I'm still too busy to work on my WIP customs.
Here are 2 kitbash Mandalorians

1. Mandalorian Stealth Scout
This guy dispenses with the noisy jetpack and instead uses a collapsible-wing glider with built-in repulsorlifts for quiet insertions into enemy territory.

2. Ori'ramikade (Mandalorian Supercommando)
Still deciding whether I'm going to eventually bulk this guy up in the future.
This guy means business with his webbing full of explosives and munitions and his assault cannon, a walking arsenal, all on his own, ready to take down all enemies of the Mando'ade

That's all for now!

Man, your last two Mandalorians are freaking Rad!
Love the idea of the glider pack and the last Mando's chest rig load out looks awesome!

I finally got around to finishing the Custom 3.75" A'sharad Hett that I've been procrastinating over for the past year!

Still having a few issues with the paint scraping off a bit, not sure if it's the type of paint or if it needs to set longer. Otherwise though, he's done!

You can see my A'sharad Hett and my other toy photography shots at my instagram:@ninjimpo

Anyway, that's all for now.
Maybe someday soon I'll finally get to finish the 1313 Boba Fett, First Order Snowtrooper, Alien Smuggler, and the possible Flamer Mandalorian I have in the pipeline as well as a few kitbashes.

Nice job on Hett. The paint is great and the little sculpted details are really nice.
