The Return of Micro Machines
« on: August 21, 2015, 04:40:38 PM »
I will be very happy to see the return of Micro Machines on the shelves again. While I outgrew them an they never stuck with me like Action Fleets did, they are part of the family and are gladly welcomed. Here are some images.

This gives me a bit of hope for future Action Fleet.

it is nice to see this continue. I will definitely pick up the walker one. not sure about the rest at this point. I wanted the SD to be OT not TFA, but I can't whine too much I guess.

I started collecting SW with Action Fleet. So Action Fleet and Micromachines have a special spot in my heart.

MM is my second favorite (if that's even possible?) SW line. I really wish they would keep at it. The current price points really killed it's resurrection I  feel. I mean $3-5 for a single blind ship was nuts... Or that FO Star destroyer  for $40+

I just feel it was kinda dead on arrival. The blind bags should have just  been in vending machines and 3-packs of ships (with those cool stands or atleast the later "flight sticks"), not to mention just  do strait figure packs (!). I got most of the new stuff eventually all on clearance (Gamestop had blind bags buy 1 get 2 aka  $.20 each lol).

I really loved collecting this line when Galoob  had its run... I remember at the very end-ish when Hasbro bought them out I had access to the company store and went NUTS HOARDING them for  pennies on the dollar... No joke $0.45 to $4.00 for playsets or $0.12 to $2.50 on figure/ship packs... Yes you read that correctly. I had nearly EVERYTHING they made... Even the  ACTION FLEET.... I recall once getting dozens of tie fighters  $0.45!!!!! Each.

I still have 99% of all the MM (and boxes... Lord help me). But the bin that had all the AF was tossed in a DUMPSTER!!! Still in pain over that... Always  will be. Cuz I had the super rare stuff like the EP1 concept 2-packs!

Terrible... TERRIBLE tragedy. One I had nothing to do with.

I was "kicked out" of my mothers house and moved in with friends... She went away to betty ford clinic and my great uncle the patriarch... Gutted and restored the house I only found out much later about the "famous" dumpster in front of the house piled up with all my stuff. Not just star wars mind you... Memorabilia of all types. Even all my customs / projects I recall even much much later... SW parts  and unfinished custom pieces  buried in the dirt path along the side of the house from being dropped and trampled on (obviously). If you go to 94 high st. Bristol, RI today I would not be surprised anyone finding "artifacts".

The worst part is my great uncle was friends with the family I was staying with (an only lived 30mins away) so all it would have took was one phone call... One damn phone call.

Moral of the story: NEVER EVER TRUST HALSEY HERRESHOFF even if he is a yachting celebrity and former long running town administrator of Bristol, RI.

(An that wasn't even the worst thing he's done to me but that's another story entirely)

RIP nearly complete massive action fleet collection... You are and will be missed an mourned for the rest of my life... Especially since all the packaging and boxes didn't get trashed!?!?!? 😠

Wow, I can remember my mom getting rid of a few of my things without thinking, but nothing of this magnitude. Didn't mean to pun this, but wow. Sorry to ready. My condolences!
